Apleona Wolfferts Gebäudetechnik operates nationwide in Germany, specialising in technical building services and serving as a general contractor in heating, ventilation, plumbing, ICA and project planning. The company sought innovative digital solutions to execute projects efficiently and rapidly while addressing the shortage of skilled labour. PlanRadar emerged as the ideal solution for the renovation of various cultural institutions in Cologne, one of Germany’s largest construction sites. The tool establishes a unified platform for team members and project participants, fostering more flexible and efficient work processes and communication.

Apleona Wolfferts plays a crucial role in the renovation of Cologne’s cultural institutions, overseeing the ventilation technology and actively supporting the city in project completion. The redevelopment project involves coordination with over 58 companies and 22 planning offices, collaborating across 72 different trades to renovate an area encompassing 233,000 cubic metres. This undertaking, recognised as one of Germany’s most expensive cultural projects, is anticipated to exceed one billion euros in costs.

In this project, Apleona Wolfferts primarily uses PlanRadar for task tracking, ranging from subcontractor delegation to on-site invoicing. The implementation of this solution has led to considerable time savings and improved overall efficiency. Thanks to PlanRadar, site manager Bernd Fritz has managed to reclaim a quarter of his on-site time, redirecting it towards process optimisation.

PlanRadar enables the creation of customised maps, precise point location, coordination of trades and facilitates communication. The solution has resulted in a substantial decrease in on-site inspections, allowing real-time monitoring of various construction phases. Improved traceability and legally compliant documentation have not only assisted Apleona Wolfferts in working more punctually but also in better tracking delays. PlanRadar will continue to be used for maintenance work even after the construction work has been completed. Overall, the introduction of PlanRadar has significantly boosted the efficiency of Apleona Wolfferts and contributed to more transparent project management.
